Millions next to road
An estimated 40 brand new Volvo trucks and trailers stand parked and unused on the property of a well known local businessman, Mr Joe Singh, out on the Stoffberg road.
The trucks were delivered to Mr Singh in February and March this year. Each truck and trailer is said to be worth an estimated R1,8 million. The truck alone said to be R1,2 million each.
Why is the estimated R72 000 000 wasting away in the sun?
Whilst these trucks are stationary, a trusted source has said that Mr Singh is in discussion with another company to buy more trucks.
Alicia Fernandes, PA to Mr Singh, said the trucks have not started working because drivers have not been appointed. She rubbished rumors that a contract fell through, leaving them without work and also said that she carries no knowledge of plans to buy more trucks.
