Video: Learners found gambling

Grade 7 learners of Thusanang Primary school were found gambling in a park during school hours on Wednesday 20 August morning.

The learners were sent home by educators because their parents failed to attend a meeting on Tuesday evening.

A parent phoned the Observer expressing her concerns on the ongoing matter at the school: “This school has a serious problem because its not the first time” said the unhappy parent.

“Our parents work until late and are not home at this time,” said one of the learners found at the park.

Mrs Mahlako Mabuza, a school teacher, emphasized the importance of these meetings as crucial issues are being discussed. “Parents must send apologies if they can’t make it or their children will suffer”.

The Principal of the school was not available for comment at the time of print.
