R10 million project to reduce bottleneck at Mandela Drive and John Magagula intersection underway
The municipality will spend R10 million on the upgrade of the Mandela Drive and John Magagula Street, one of the town's most congested intersections.
The welcome upgrade will ease traffic flow with new traffic lights that will be erected.
Each of the four intersections will also get its own turning lane to ensure free flow of traffic.
Presently a bottleneck exists due to the four way stop.
Mandela Drive runs from the N11 Hendrina road, covering all major exits, up to Mhluzi.
The project’s estimated completion time is end October.
