Accident claims mom and unborn baby
A mother and her unborn baby tragically died in a car accident in Aurora Street, Eastdene, on Sunday.
According to an anonymous source, the deceased, Ms. Atiya Bhoola (26), was in a silver double door Corsa with eight other occupants, aged between 17 and 29.
The driver allegedly sustained a flat tyre whereafter he lost control and rolled.
“I woke up from the noise in front of my house and immediately went out to see what the commotion is all about,” the source said. Ms. Bhoola was trapped inside the vehicle but she was declared dead on the paramedic’s arrival.
The occupants were allegedly travelling from a house party to an unknown destination in Nasaret.
No arrests have been made but a case of culpable homicide is currently under investigation.
Ms Bhoola was laid to rest on Monday 15 September.
