Watch: Black water from Mhluzi taps
Black water coming out of taps has Mhluzi residents fuming for the past couple weeks. Many areas have been affected including Extension 2,3 and Mataileng.
The Steve Tshwete municipality stated that they have discovered in the latest water analysis that there is a higher than normal Manganese concentration in the raw water from Middelburg dam.
“The Manganese is causing a yellowish colour in the water and can settle in the reservoirs where there is already some sedimentation.
During the distribution into the water
network this sediment can gets into the water network and causes the colour”.
