Sundowns fan celebrates PSL title
A die-hard Mamelodi Sundowns supporter celebrated being crowned Absa Premier Soccer League Champions over the weekend.
Piet Mahlangu, well known local soccer fanatic, paraded through town on Saturday afternoon in his custom sprayed yellow and blue Sundowns car just moments after the Brazilians were given the PSL title.
Pitso Mosimane’s men claimed two records by closing the season with victory – the highest points total of 71 (for a 16-team PSL season) and a lead of 14 points at the end of the season over second-placed Bidvest Wits.
“I’ve been a Sundowns supporter all my life and I’m absolutely ecstatic that we’re the champions!” said Mahlangu.
He’s been to dozens of games at their home ground at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria this season and praised the likes of Surprise Moriri, Khami Billiet and Hlompho Kekana.
“It was a great season and what a pleasure to see the boys do so well. Sundowns forever!”.
Mahlangu added that his car is for sale – but only to Sundowns owner, Patrice Motsepe.
“If he likes it, he can buy it”.
