New Hospital being built for Middelburg
The construction of a Private Day Hospital will take place along Protea Street, adjacent to the old Middelburg Zoo, and is earmarked for completion by January 2017 upon which it will provide health care to residents of Middelburg and surrounding areas.
It is being developed by a group of investors which includes doctors and specialists. It will consist of at least 20 beds for day patients and a sub-acute overnight facility will accommodate at least 32 beds.
The building will also include consulting rooms, a laboratory and pathology department, x-ray facilities as well as various specialist services.
More details on the development will be made available as the hospital nears the opening date.
