Boerboel makes name in US

I read your article "Thief Met Boela" with interest. I am the owner of two Boerboels in the United States. One of my Boerboels was imported from a farm in South Africa.

I was wondering if you know if the Boerboel in this article is registered, or registered with SABBS? Would you be able to give me the bloodlines, or the pedigree? It might be an unregistered farm Boerboel, but some of us in the Boerboel community have been wondering.

The Boerboel as a breed has become very popular in all parts of the world, including the US and Canada, Europe, United Kingdom and Russia. In January of 2015, they became officially recognized as a breed with AKC (American Kennel Club) in the US.

My oldest Boerboel just turned eight years old, and I have been doing rescue of Boerboels in the US for about the same period.

My female is very athletic, and she is also a registered Therapy Dog with TDI here in the US.

I would love to read any follow-up articles you write on the breed. Congratulations on the article going viral!

• The Observer contacted Mrs Bank and told her that Boela is not registered, but only a pet, who protected his owner’s property.

• The video where Boela attacked an intruder, went viral on the web. ViralHog, one of the leading viral media licensing companies in the world, is busy licensing the video. They license viral videos for TV shows and other media in the US and worldwide and work with MTV, VH-1, Discovery, NBC, ABC, the BBC and CNN, in addition to many other networks and production companies around the globe.
