Woman in court for putting child in a hole
A woman from the Masakane Village near Blinkpan appeared in court on a charge of child abuse and/or deliberate neglect.
Sibongile Mxhobo (36) allegedly put a five year old child in a hole in the ground without food or water.
It was learned from a trusted source that Mxhobo’s bail application was moved from the Blinkpan court to Middelburg out of fear that the community might protest in front of court if it was held in Blinkpan.
Information has it that Mxhobo was handed over to police by members of the community. She was released on R500 bail and will appear in court again later in April.
