Man identified
The man who was killed after a train rode over his leg last Friday afternoon near Rand road has been identified as a resident of Hlalamnandi, 50 year old Jan Mohlahla.
When paramedics arrived at the scene he was still alive but in critical condition. He died a few hours later in Middelburg Hospital.
It is still unclear what exactly led to the incident and according to Mohahla’s brother, John, officials are still investigating the matter.
“They took down my details and my contact number, but I still haven’t heard anything. They’re just not getting back to me,” said John.
He said that his brother was working when the incident occurred, and also found it difficult to speculate as to what occurred.
Jan Mohahla will be buried in Dennilton this Saturday and funeral arrangements were still being finalized at the time of going to print.
