Robbery at Primrose Square

A warning to the community.

Angelica Gerber called the GCN this morning (Friday), with a warning.

Gerber explained that her husband, Heinz, had been robbed at knife point, at 6pm on Thursday evening, in the upper parking lot of the Primrose Square.

She added that the parking lot’s security guard had just left the area to take trolleys back to the centre’s Pick n Pay, when three men approached her husband and held him at knife point.

The thugs took his cell phone, his bank cards, the cash he had on him and disappeared.

Heinz was unable to describe the men in great detail, but believes them to be in their mid-20s; he also noticed that they all wore beanies, but that their faces were not covered.

“It’s important that we warn the community, so that they can be on their guard,” said Gerber.

The incident has since been reported to the Primrose police.

  1. Two weeks ago there was a car stolen from the top parking as well. We got there a short while after it happened. The lady who the car belonged to was crying and there was some activity with people getting details. When I asked if there was a car stolen they said yes.
The question now is what measures is Pick and Pay going to take to prevent further problems, its not often there is any security there, only the car guard but there thing still happen with him there.
They must place full time paid security on the roof parking who does not leave the area or load cars etc. The lower level parking is always too full making the roof top parking best place to park.
