This is a sign that water levels are dropping and the public needs to take water conservation and demand management seriously to ensure water security for all.

The Department of Water and Sanitation, therefore, urges all South Africans to use water sparingly and strengthen water conservation and re-use initiatives, especially as we head into the dry winter season. It is crucial that we all use the available water wisely to ensure the security of supply for all.

Also read:

Parents frustrated by a lack of space in Middelburg schools

Traffic officers to appear in court for corruption

#TrafficAlert: Two dead in Kranspoort accidents

VIDEO: Two perish after truck jack-knifes

Want breaking news on the go?

• Save our standby number (072 248 3855) and send us a WhatsApp message with the words “Add me” to be added to our broadcast list.

• Like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and Instagram.

• Subscribe to our YouTube channel.

• Click on the link to subscribe to our bi-weekly newsletter via email.

Have a news tip?

Contact our news room on our 24 hr standby number 072 248 3855, or send a mail to our editor tobie@mobserver.co.za

The Department of Water and Sanitation’s (DWS) weekly state of reservoirs report of 8 April shows that water levels in the major dams of the Nkangala District in the Mpumalanga Province, like the Middelburg Dam, are dropping.

[7,2
17621,17622,10010,17619,12898,17620,17624,3730,17623,10333,1012,10794
post-92479","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","category-news-headlines","tag-dam-levels-decreasing","tag-department-of-water-and-sanitation","tag-local-news","tag-middelburg-dam-levels","tag-middelburg-news","tag-mpumalanga-dam-levels","tag-mpumalanga-rianfall-statistics","tag-rainfall","tag-reservoir-reports","tag-trusted-news","tag-water","tag-water-supply
["dam levels decreasing","department of water and sanitation","local news","middelburg dam levels","middelburg news","mpumalanga dam levels","mpumalanga rianfall statistics","rainfall","reservoir reports","trusted news","water","Water supply
["GET
