{"id":67279,"date":"2017-05-23T14:50:54","date_gmt":"2017-05-23T12:50:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mobserver.co.za\/?p=67279"},"modified":"2017-05-25T10:19:28","modified_gmt":"2017-05-25T08:19:28","slug":"update-girl-8-dies-sister-critical-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/middelburg-observer\/news-headlines\/2017\/05\/23\/update-girl-8-dies-sister-critical-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Update: Girl (8) dies, sister critical after accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vanessa Musavange (8) was declared dead on the scene after futile attempts to save her life by nearby residents and later paramedics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rH3E69dRarQ\" target=\"_blank\">Shocking video material <\/a>shows how she and her two older sisters, aged 10 and 11, were flung from the canopy of the Mazda Drifter double cab they were travelling in.<\/p>\n<p>The accident occurred when a VW Jetta ignored a stop sign at the Kiepersol- and Sering Street crossing.<\/p>\n<p>Unconfirmed reports have it that both surviving sisters were transferred from Life Midmed in Middelburg to a hospital in Johannesburg. The eldest sister is currently on life support.<\/p>\n<p>A nearby resident said that she offered to go and fetch the mother of the Musavange children after they could not be reached by phone. The woman was then rushed off to hospital to be with her other two children.<\/p>\n<p>An elder sister collapsed at Vanessa\u2019s feet, repeatedly mumbling \u201cSomeone help me!
