Over and above all the national and provincial awards that are easily scooped on a very regular basis, the closeness of a tight-knit community cannot be overlooked as it is the people of this town that contribute in achieving various levels of public satisfaction and community upliftment.<\/p>\n

We cannot ignore that when it comes to repairs and replacements of traffic lights, street lights, burst pipes, refuse collection and pothole repairs, the Steve Tshwete municipality is often on top of their game.<\/p>\n

How many other towns can compare? Certainly not our closest neighbour – eMalahleni.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s hardly a resident in town who cannot admit that they haven\u2019t witnessed municipal workers working over weekends, holidays and after hours. This determination and attitude is seldom found anywhere in the country and the closest contenders are all locations situated in the Western Cape.<\/p>\n

But people still complain – such is human nature. It\u2019s easy to find fault when you are used to perfection. And if you\u2019ve lived in Middelburg all your life then you really have little or no idea of what\u2019s going on in other towns.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a difference between bringing an issue to the attention of the municipality and unnecessarily raging on about a petty subject that can be much more efficiently handled.<\/p>\n
