Mr Johannes Masango\u2019s family discovered a massive bedsore on his buttocks.<\/p>\n
He was admitted to the hospital on 11 July because he could not walk. His sister, Francina, said this morning that a scan, which was done at the Witbank Hospital on Monday, revealed that he has a growth on his spinal cord, which might be cancerous.<\/p>\n
She mentioned that the doctors could not operate on him, due to the bedsore and a lung infection. He must go back to the hospital on 19 September. They hope by that time the infection and the bedsore will be better.<\/p>\n
According to Francina the staff\u2019s attitude has changed drastically after an article in the Middelburg Observer newspaper and \u201cthat her brother also smells better\u201d. The bedsore had a bad smell when they discovered it last week.<\/p>\n
\u2022 The matter was brought to the attention of the CEO of the Middelburg Hospital, Mr Pat Mazibuko, as well as the Health Department.<\/p>\n
