The ANC retained the council with 32 seats, followed by the DA’s 17.<\/p>\n
The ruling party got 64 124 of the total votes, compared to the DA’s 33 603 and the EFF’s 13 027.<\/p>\n
Support for the ANC is down by 12% compared to 2011 where it garnered 67,82% of votes.<\/p>\n
Apart from the rise of the EFF, the FF+ also grew its support base with 4%, detracting around 10% of the DA’s vote in all six DA wards.<\/p>\n
A date for the inauguration of councilors have not been determined.<\/p>\n
Mayor Mike Masina will head the council as Mayor for a second term.<\/p>\n
\u2022 The ANC scored 66,22% of votes for the Nkangala District Council, compared to the DA’s 16,44% and the EFF’s 12,84%.<\/p>\n
