News: Kranspoort Pass closed after accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to witnesses on the scene, a truck carrying a cargo of cold drinks, lost control and veered down the pass, into a stationary truck.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the mechanic who had been busy on the stationary truck, was killed on impact after being caught between the two.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, infrastructural engineers, HHO, has announced that due to ongoing strike action by road workers, motorists will be using the N11 at own risk until Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe road will remain closed until striking labourers return to the posts,\u201d Mr Rian Ilse said, adding that HHO was hopeful that the situation would return to normal by Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Ilse also said that the Olifants River Bridge will be closed up to Thursday, due to concrete work being done.<\/p>\n<p>He says the bridge will probably be open to vehicles by 07:00 on Thursday, despite the ongoing strike action, which has resulted in tires being burnt, and vehicles pelted with stones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are matters out of our control, we apologize for the inconvenience,\u201d Mr Ilse concluded.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1'
