{"id":50670,"date":"2016-06-14T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-06-14T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/echonews.sites.caxton.co.za\/50670\/march-against-elder-abuse\/"},"modified":"2016-06-14T09:11:01","modified_gmt":"2016-06-14T07:11:01","slug":"march-against-elder-abuse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/middelburg-observer\/news-headlines\/2016\/06\/14\/march-against-elder-abuse\/","title":{"rendered":"March against elder abuse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The march forms part of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Campaign and a number of schools and pre-schools will take part in the march alongside local elders.<\/p>\n<p>The march will start at 10:00 sharp, from the parking lot at the back of Pick n Pay in town.<\/p>\n<p>Before the march, representatives from a number of organisations caring for the elderly, will hand over a memorandum at the Middelburg Hospital, demanding better care for vulnerable elders like the late <a href=\"http:\/\/Bets Claassen se dood\" target=\"_blank\">Ms Bets Claassen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is the fifth annual march that will be held.
