{"id":47232,"date":"2016-04-26T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-04-26T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/echonews.sites.caxton.co.za\/47232\/saps-nab-suspects-in-special-operation\/"},"modified":"2016-04-26T08:26:18","modified_gmt":"2016-04-26T06:26:18","slug":"saps-nab-suspects-in-special-operation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/middelburg-observer\/news-headlines\/2016\/04\/26\/saps-nab-suspects-in-special-operation\/","title":{"rendered":"SAPS nab suspects in special operation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The operation was led by Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Moses Maepa and four suspects were arrested and charged:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Thembinkosi Freddy Masilela (28) was arrested and charged with attempted murder for allegedly burning his partner with an iron at their place of residence in Extension 4 on 31 March.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Mhluzi SAPS, the victims entire body was covered with burns and she was taken to the Middelburg Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>She is recovering at home after being discharged from hospital. Masilela appeared before the Middelburg Magistrate&#8217;s Court on Monday and the case was remanded to 3 May 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Mduduzi Bogoshi (35) and Dikeledi Mokwana (33) were arrested and charged with possession of ammunition and possession of an item suspected to be stolen.<\/p>\n<p>They reside in Extension 2, and the charges emanated after their place of residence was searched. Police found an angle grinder suspected to be stolen.<\/p>\n<p>The ammunition found was 14 \u00d7 9mm live rounds in a 9mm magazine, 25 \u00d7 7.65 live rounds, and 3 \u00d7 308 hunting rifle live rounds.<\/p>\n<p>They appeared before the Middelburg Magistrate&#8217;s Court on Monday and the case was remanded to 28 April 2016. A fake firearm resembling a 9mm was also found.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mobserver.co.za\/42907\/these-are-the-crime-hotspots\/\" target=\"_blank\">Middelburg crime hotspots<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Nkomazi Abraham Zulu (49) was arrested and charged with possession of ammunition after 5 \u00d7 36 Special Revolver live rounds were found at his place of residence in Extension 4.<\/p>\n<p>He appeared before the Middelburg Magistrate&#8217;s Court on Monday and the case was remanded to 19 May 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The Mhluzi SAPS said in a statement that &#8220;Lt Col Maepa assures Mhluzi
