According to Werner Otto of Shanduka, a water pump was stolen from a mine near Belfast almost a year ago. Recently he was made aware that a similar pump is being advertised on OLX for R50 000.<\/p>\n

A meeting was set up between a Shanduka employee that posed as the buyer and the seller in Mhluzi.<\/p>\n

After going to view the pump at a house in Tokologo, an offer was made. But instead of getting R50 000 the seller woke up to police officers who came to arrest him.<\/p>\n

A person who was at the scene said that the suspect’s parents told them that he worked for Fofo. A Fofo Security company vehicle arrived on the scene shortly after the arrest was made.<\/p>\n

The success is the result of teamwork between Shanduka, Bidvest Protea Coin, the police’s K9 unit, the Belfast detective branch and Middelburg Crime Intelligence.<\/p>\n

The suspect’s name could not be published because he has not appeared in court at the time of going to press.<\/p>\n
