With improved medical care and better nutrition, people are living much longer than they did before, and often for longer than they expected.<\/p>\n
For example, many of the residents at Arbor Village, a Methodist retirement home and frail-care facility in Bedfordview, are over 80.<\/p>
However, the cost of living and frail care continues to rise, while pensions do not.<\/p>\n
The constrained economy also means that many children cannot support their elderly parents when they need frail-care for longer than they had anticipated.<\/p>
To continue to cater for the needs of the aged, Arbor Village is holding its annual Spring F\u00eate from 8am to 2pm on September 19.<\/p>\n
Funds raised at the f\u00eate will go into Arbor Village\u2019s support fund.<\/p>\n
The funds are used for the needs of the village, enhancing the security of the Village Residence and Residence Support Fund, which assists with the rising costs of frail-care.<\/p>\n
Enjoy a lovely family day out, supporting the aged, at Arbor Village.<\/p>\n
You can enjoy fabulous shopping, including market stalls, gift stalls, craft tables, a jumble sale and white elephant stall.<\/p>\n
There will also be lots to eat and drink, with food stalls and a tea garden available.<\/p>\n
Youngsters will be entertained with a jumping castle, balloon animals and shapes, face-painting and a clown.<\/p>\n
Other entertainment includes a pipe band, drum majorettes, singers and dancers.<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll also have a chance to win a prize in the lucky ticket draw.<\/p>\n
Arbor Village is situated on the corner of Smith and Bradford roads, in Bedfordview.<\/p>\n
So bring the family along for a fun-filled day out.<\/p>\n
