The power system remains stable heading into the weekend.<\/p>\n

Eskom<\/a> has been able to continue maintenance without load shedding for five consecutive days.<\/p>

This is in line with the company’s position to only resort to rotational load shedding in order to protect the power system and also to create space for critical maintenance.<\/p>\n

The risk remains high during the evening peak period when the demand for electricity increases.<\/p>

However, Eskom will inform customers should the possibility of load shedding intensify.<\/p>\n

\u201cEskom\u2019s aim is to meet the country\u2019s electricity needs and maintain its power generating units with minimal or no load shedding,\u201d said the company in a statement released this morning.<\/p>\n

Eskom will provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all the media platforms.<\/p>\n
