care students graduate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/88912\/celebrating-the-establishment-of-the-red-cross\/\" target=\"_blank\">South African Red Cross<\/a> Society\u2019s Germiston branch recently celebrated the graduation of 22 of their home-based care students.<\/p>\n<p>The home-based care programme focuses on the development of a care plan for each client in terms of their level of need and disease process.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The emphasis is placed on empowering clients and families to become knowledgeable and self-sufficient in the management of their disease process.<\/p>\n<p>The students of the home-based care programme are recruited from the community, and it is hoped that these students will in turn educate their communities and clients.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The graduation ceremony was officially started with Red Cross member Ntombizodwa Nkambule leading the graduating students into the hall with a song.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Red Cross 1\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SC-QBv03TT8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The students were met with applause and shouts of joy from their friends, family and other members of the Red Cross Society.<\/p>\n<p>Matron Wendy Hahne gave the keynote address and encouraged the graduates to take what they have learnt and make their communities and their country better.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Red Cross 2\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The certificates presented to the students are internationally recognised.<\/p>\n<p>The event was brought to a
