galore at the annual 1 000 Bike Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 30th annual 1 000 Bike Show took place last weekend, at Germiston High School.<\/p>\n<p>The event, hosted by the Classic Motorcycle Club, has grown from humble beginnings as a small display in the Carlton Centre\u2019s Centre Court, in 1985, to what is now the largest dedicated motorcycle show in Africa.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The show, a hit with bike enthusiasts, saw classic motorcycles from 1907 to 1985, as well as modern bikes on display.<\/p>\n<p>Bike brands included Ariel, BSA, Norton and Triumph, BMW, Laverda, Moto Guzzi, Kreidler and Zundapps.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>Various awards were handed out over the two-day event, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Best Standard: Sean McGlead &#8211; Kawasaki Z1300.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Best Street Modified: Boer Prinsloo &#8211; Suzuki Katana.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Best Street Fighter: JHJ Customs &#8211; Suzuki Rizzla.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Best Cruiser: Chris Maree Boulevard.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Best Classic: Dyno by Quint &#8211; Paul Kotze &#8211; Kawaski Z900.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Best Imported Chopper: Dyno by Quint &#8211; Iron Horse.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Best Trike: Elizabeth de Bruyn.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Best Caf\u00e9 Racer: Peter Pelser &#8211; Suzuki GT750.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Special Mention &#8211; Best Junior Builder: Sarel O\u2019Neill \u2013 Kawasaki.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Best
