Tina Groenewald, of Primrose East, had her 19-year-old Toyota Tazz stolen on the night of June 20.<\/p>\n
This happened while she was checking her emails at an Internet caf\u00e9, in Marlands.<\/p>
\u201cI arrived at the Internet caf\u00e9 at 8.30pm; I always go there and, as per normal, I occasionally walk out just to check if my car is still okay,\u201d said Groenewald.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was there for about 30 to 45 minutes when I went out to check the car, but it was nowhere to be found.<\/p>
\u201cI couldn\u2019t believe my eyes; among other safety systems in my car, my gear lock and steering wheel were locked, but they still managed to steal it.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople from the Internet caf\u00e9 and the community came out to witness what had happened and one of the men helped by calling the Primrose Police Station.<\/p>\n
Groenewald (68) said the Primrose police came to the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter taking statements and all that they took me home, for which I am grateful,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat car was brand new when I bought it 19 years ago; I kept it in good condition and took great care of it.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy son had just taken it in for a service earlier that morning, it really is a painful and traumatic thing to experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cI cried a lot; I can\u2019t eat or sleep, I am still shocked.”<\/p>\n
Groenewald also told the GCN that she would like the vehicle recovered as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am reaching out to community members and anybody who might have a lead to the recovery of my car,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy son has offered a reward for anybody who can recover it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe colour of the car is metallic charcoal, with tinted windows and mag rims on the wheels.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe registration number is CKL 329 GP, I hope the above will help in identifying my car.\u201d<\/p>\n
