business council to pave the way to revitalising manufacturing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a precursor to the upcoming two-day Manufacturing Indaba Conference and Exhibition the metro recently revealed its plan to establish the Ekurhuleni Business Council (EBC) during the Manufacturing Round Table held at Emperors Palace.<\/p>\n<p>Industry leaders were invited to deliberate on how they, through the EBC, will collectively work towards the revitalisation of the manufacturing sector in Ekurhuleni.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>In his keynote address, the executive mayor of Ekurhuleni, Clr Mondli Gungubele, alluded to the fact that the EBC will provide avenues for partnerships between the public and private sectors to advance the municipality\u2019s development and job creation goals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is this very council that the metro\u2019s senior management will utilise to adequately engage with the manufacturing fraternity on key issues of service delivery and other municipal business.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis round table is an opportunity to reorganise the industry in order to maximise the potential that already exists in Ekurhuleni,\u201d said Gungubele.<\/p>\n<p>The EBC is a structure that will include representatives from both the municipality and business.<\/p>\n<p>It will be guided by a few rules, namely:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote the common goals of the council in the best interest of the metro.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the Batho Pele principles are adhered to at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Exercise due diligence and skill in the execution of the council mandate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In its continued pursuit to revitalise manufacturing in Ekurhuleni, the metro will be hosting the Manufacturing Indaba Conference and Exhibition where deliberations regarding enhancing manufacturing competitiveness in Gauteng will take place.<\/p>\n<p>The indaba is set to take place on June 29 and 30, from 8am to 5pm, at Emperors Palace.<\/p>\n<p>For more
