\u201cI can\u2019t express how happy I am to have my son home,\u201d said Thembisille Mokwena (23) from her home in Katlehong.<\/p>
Thembisille\u2019s son, Kagiso (6), went missing on January 9<\/a>, from a park in Katlehong, but was reunited with his mother on June <\/a>1.<\/p>\n The little boy was found when his father saw him outside a tuck shop, close to his home.<\/p> \u201cKagiso\u2019s father and I are separated,\u201d Thembisille said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe had been at the Katlehong Police Station and asked an officer to take him home; not long after he had returned home he went to the local tuck shop.<\/p>\n \u201cHe claims that our son walked up while he was there.\u201d<\/p>\n It is alleged that Kagiso had been sent to the shop by his captor.<\/p>\n Thembisille explained how she spent the five months since her son\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a really bad time in my life,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI cried every day, and couldn\u2019t eat.<\/p>\n \u201cI really thought my life was over.\u201d<\/p>\n She insists that she doesn\u2019t know who the 28-year-old, who was charged with Kagiso\u2019s kidnapping, is.<\/p>\n \u201cMy heart was sore after hearing from a journalist that the woman who kidnapped my son had been released,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI was angry that the police hadn\u2019t contacted me about the situation.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to know what really happened and who this woman is, she could be an old friend, an enemy, I just don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n All the unanswered questions have left Thembisille in a state of fear.<\/p>\n \u201cI am frightened that she will come back and try to take Kagiso away again, or worse, kill him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n This young mother feels the police have failed her, but is focusing on what is important to her, her son.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is going to school and I am focused on making sure he is happy and safe,\u201d said Thembisille.<\/p>\n The GCN will continue to follow this case and release any new developments as they become available.<\/p>\n
