Hot water:<\/div>\n<div>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Turn down the thermostat on your electrical element geyser to 60\u00b0C.<\/div>\n<div>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Don\u2019t use hot water for tasks you can accomplish with cold water &#8211; such as rinsing dishes and vegetables.<\/div>\n<div>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Only use hot water for cleaning tasks that really need it, like washing your hands.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>2. Fridge and freezer:<\/div>\n<div>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Set your fridge to 3\u00b0C \u2013 any lower and it will use more electricity than necessary.<\/div>\n<div>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Make sure the seals of your fridge and freezer doors are intact.<\/div>\n<div>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Don\u2019t open the door unnecessarily.<\/div>\n<div>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Place your fridge somewhere cool &#8211; away from sun-facing walls and windows, and as far as possible from the stove.<\/div>\n<div>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Defrost your chest freezer twice a year; upright freezers should be defrosted three times a year.<\/div>\n<div>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Don\u2019t overfill your fridge or freezer; only use 90 per cent of its capacity.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>3.
