Hirsch\u2019s Meadowdale will be a hive of activity on June 13, when the store\u2019s charity drive aims to build a mountain of clothes.<\/p>\n
Coupled with this the day will see the first Hirsch\u2019s \u201cBanting Exhibition\u201d taking place on the East Rand and the entrance fee to the event will be a bag of clothes.<\/p>
\u201cHirsch\u2019s and Tru-Banting are offering a fun and exciting opportunity for anyone interested, to experience the benefits that the \u2018banting\u2019 lifestyle brings,\u201d said Brigitte Thysse, public relations and marketing officer for Hirsch\u2019s East Rand.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhether you are just getting started, wanting to get started or are struggling to adjust to your change of lifestyle, this is an opportunity for you to take a walk through the \u2018banting exhibition\u2019 and find all the products and answers you are looking for.\u201d<\/p>
Visitors to the exhibition can expect nutritionists on site, live food demonstrations, grass-fed meat products, ready-to-mix banting products and much more.<\/p>\n
The event will be centred around building the \u201cbiggest mountain of clothes\u201d, which will go to Hirsch\u2019s \u201cClothes to Good\u201d campaign.<\/p>\n
The \u201cmountain\u201d will be built just outside the store\u2019s door.<\/p>\n
Hirsch\u2019s and educational DSTV\u2019s EarthBeat (a programme on sustainable environmental solutions) have partnered to collect secondhand clothes for Clothes to Good, the national company that purchases secondhand clothes, to raise money for sustainable education programmes for a variety of schools in the area.<\/p>\n
Money raised from the collection of these clothes will go towards lesson plans on sustainable living for schools selected by Hirsch\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Clothes to Good sorts the clothes and sends them to a variety of charitable organisations around the country, where they are rehabilitated by the residents.<\/p>\n
The event will run from 10am until 2pm, at Hirsch\u2019s Meadowdale, at 12 Herman Road, Meadowdale.<\/p>\n
