Ekurhuleni residents are currently arriving by the busload, just outside the Marathon informal settlement in Primrose, before heading off to hand over a memorandum to officials at the Germiston Civic Centre.<\/p>\n
People from areas including; Primrose, Buhle Park, Palm Ridge and Klippoortje, are joining the protest.<\/p>
The police told the GCN earlier that it was not an EFF affiliated march, but upon arriving at the scene, almost everyone was sporting an EFF T-shirt.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also believe there are other affiliations among the protesters,\u201d said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.<\/p>
Currently, the protesters are being registered and it is not known when the march will kick-off.<\/p>\n
Spirits are high at the gathering point and one marcher told the GCN they are marching to demand their houses back.<\/p>\n
\u201cZuma has taken our land and homes and given us RDP houses, we want our own houses back,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
