Members of the DA, together with the Katlehong community, got their hands dirty on Worker\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

DA activists and community members gathered at the Katlehong park before the clean-up started on Worker\u2019s Day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

They tackled the mammoth task of cleaning up a neglected park next to the Tamaho Primary School.<\/p>

The park has become unsafe due to the overgrown bushes, which serve as a hide-out for criminals.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, a child\u2019s body was found in the park and the community fears for the safety of their children.<\/p>

Forty community members along with DA activists cut down the long grass and overgrown bushes, using spades and cutters.<\/p>\n

They were joined by children from within the community, and a girls\u2019 netball team that were on their way to a practice game also jumped in and helped.<\/p>\n

The community expressed their gratitude to the Democratic Alliance for their help and the area was successfully cleared.<\/p>\n
