Veteran music ensemble, Ballyhoo, is back at Carnival City, on March 14, as part of the festive St Patrick\u2019s Day celebrations.<\/p>\n
They are set to rock the Carnival City Show Bar with their infectious energy and entertaining array of songs from the 1960s to now.<\/p>
\u201cWe are excited to welcome Ballyhoo back to our stage,\u201d said Michelle Smith, the marketing manager for Carnival City.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been a while since their last show here and we look forward to an evening of great music and entertainment, Ballyhoo style.\u201d<\/p>
The band originated in Ireland but has become a household name in South Africa for their smash hit \u201cMan on the Moon\u201d, which took them to the top of the charts in 1981, and is still going strong.<\/p>\n
Other songs, for which they are still remembered, are \u201cAir Incident\u201d, \u201cRock \u2018n Roll Party\u201d, \u201cMama Microphone\u201d, and \u201cDon\u2019t You Go Walking\u201d, to mention but a few.<\/p>\n
Collectively Ballyhoo holds a wealth of experience, which forms the foundation of one of the most dedicated and determined bands around today.<\/p>\n
Since the band\u2019s emergence in the late 1970s, they have travelled extensively throughout Africa, Europe and Asia, performing at private and corporate functions, music festivals and parties.<\/p>\n
Ballyhoo will perform at the Show Bar from 9pm.<\/p>\n
There is an entrance fee which includes a complimentary welcome drink.<\/p>\n
