That\u2019s when I discovered the talented Michelle Powell from Shaz\u2019s Unisex Nail and Hair Studio.<\/p>\n
I recently visited the salon to see what Michelle could do about my locks.<\/p>

<\/a>Having worked in the industry for 19 years, Michelle has a vast amount of experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cI enjoy my job immensely,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is always something different with regard to styles and colours, and you hear a large variety of stories from the people you meet.\u201d<\/p>\n
When I arrived, Michelle sat me down and we discussed exactly what I wanted to do with my hair.<\/p>\n
As I enjoy tying it up I didn\u2019t really want to cut too much off, so we opted for colour to give it some vooma.<\/p>\n
My stylist chose an intense red for the main colour and added copper and blonde streaks to the mix.<\/p>\n
The colour was applied by Nester Ngobende, one of the operators at the salon.<\/p>\n
She was extremely professional and friendly, and I knew I was in good hands.<\/p>\n
The salon currently has five hairstylists and two operators who describe the salon as friendly and one that aims to please its customers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe give our customers what they want, but also give advice when necessary,\u201d Michelle said.<\/p>\n
Manager of the salon Sharon de Oliveira, who has been in the industry since she was 16, added, \u201cWe offer a professional service at reasonable prices to suit your pocket.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe work with your budget and will always give our customers something extra for their money.\u201d<\/p>\n
After the success of a beauty day held last year, this year they plan to hold them more often.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is where the public can come along and get advice from top people in the industry,\u201d Sharon said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also have lots of discounts and giveaways on the day.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shaz\u2019s caters to women and men, and has pensioners\u2019 day every day.<\/p>\n
They use GreenLite, a herbal product for their applications, and for Brazilian blow-waves they use a product called Salvator, which has been clinically tested to have no side-effects or health risks.<\/p>\n
After I had the chance to chat with the stylists for a while, and soak in the atmosphere, it was time to rinse my hair and have a look at the colour.<\/p>\n
I enjoyed a relaxing shampoo and then Michelle trimmed my ends and neatened up my hair.<\/p>\n Now it was time for the blow-wave which would allow me to see the colour.<\/p>\n I was so excited and wow it was gorgeous.<\/p>\n I felt like a new person as I primped and preened in front of the mirror.<\/p>\n It is amazing how beautiful hair can make you feel so happy.<\/p>\n I was thrilled with the result and would recommend Shaz\u2019s to my friends.<\/p>\n To contact the salon call Sharon on 082 552 8920 or Michelle on 061 034 5257.
