In December, the GCN reported on the damage to a Rondebult resident\u2019s drive way.<\/p>\n

The damage on the road outside his Roodekop Road home, was caused by a large storm in the area.<\/p>

What he thought to be a simple crack quickly became a sinkhole.<\/p>\n

The metro closed off the road shortly after the incident and promised to repair the damage.<\/p>

However, nothing has been done and the sinkhole has grown in size.<\/p>\n

The GCN approached the metro to find out when repairs would begin.<\/p>\n

Seabi Masilo, media assistant for the metro\u2019s department of communications and brand management, released the following statement:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe city\u2019s contractor was on site from Monday, January 5, to start with the rehabilitating process of the sinkhole.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe storm water department is also on board in assisting with the better management of water.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe metro does not believe the sinkhole has gotten any bigger.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe municipality will keep you abreast of the progress made.\u201d<\/p>\n

The GCN will continue to follow up on this matter.<\/p>\n
