get surprise Christmas visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A special Christmas function was held for the residents of the Avril Elizabeth Home for the Mentally Handicapped, last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>A group of Witfield residents, under the leadership of Belinda Goose, visited the residents with special gifts for all of them.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>Belinda told the GCN the idea to give each resident a personalised gift started when they visited the home and met one of the residents, named Morn\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>He introduced himself and showed Belinda his dance moves and Belinda noticed that his takkies were rather worn.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>She then mobilised people in her community to sponsor presents for each of the residents so that they would know the joy of Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>The team had a great time
