ready for load shedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>National electricity supplier Eskom is currently in Stage One load shedding and has requested the metro to reduce the load on its electricity network.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1pm today (Friday), the metro has been undertaking this load reduction exercise by following the load shedding schedules available on the municipality&#8217;s website (www.ekurhuleni.gov.za).<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The municipality has been requested to reduce its load by at least 150MW and will be switching off various areas to meet this requirement.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are urged to treat all electrical network points and equipment as electrically alive at all times.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>The municipality apologies for the inconvenience caused.<\/p>\n<p><a
