Ria Lyons, of Lambton, is upset about the metro’s handling of a leaking water pipe.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe metro came out to our property to repair a leaking pipe,” Lyons said.<\/p>

\u201cThe repair team dug a huge hole during the work, but never filled it in.<\/p>\n

The pipe was reported fixed weeks ago, but the hole remained open, causing a number of problems for Lyons and her family.<\/p>

The GCN contacted the metro\u2019s spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, for comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cA team has begun backfilling the hole,”he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce the backfilling process has been done the team will re-install the concrete pavement.\u201d<\/p>\n

After receiving comment from the metro, Lyons again contacted the GCN.<\/p>\n

She claimed that a team had come out, but said they were not doing anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked the man in charge what was happening, but he rudely ignored me and continued with what he was doing,\u201d said Lyons.<\/p>\n

The GCN sent the matter to the metro for comment, but, at the time of going to print, had received no reply.<\/p>\n
