“Concerned resident”, Primrose Hill, writes:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I just wanted to share the horrible experience I had on August 1.<\/p>

As the sun was setting I looked down into the Main Reef Valley, from my cottage window, in Primrose Hill.<\/p>\n

And I saw thick black smoke rising up into the atmosphere.<\/p>

People down there are burning something.<\/p>\n

What they are burning I don’t know, but two hours later the whole of Primrose Hill was engulfed in a thick black mist and there was a funny smell in the air.<\/p>\n

It was so bleak and horrible outside, I couldn’t even see the city lights over the Alberton valley, because of this thick acrid smoke in the atmosphere.<\/p>\n

I’ve never seen anything like this before and I’ve been living in Primrose Hill since 1999.<\/p>\n

This black smoke originates somewhere from the Cleveland area or The Gables.<\/p>\n

I don’t know who was burning what, or why, but this is really bad because it’s affecting people’s health.<\/p>\n

I’m quite sure it’s not industry-related, as I often see black smoke rising from The Gables.<\/p>\n

I think the people who are doing this are destroying the quality of the air beyond belief.<\/p>\n

They should be stopped by somebody.<\/p>\n

It’s not good for them or anybody else.<\/p>\n

That’s why poverty is such a bad thing in this country, because this unhealthy activity is poverty-related.<\/p>\n

On August 1, Primrose Hill was unlucky, because the smoke drifted in this direction for the first time.<\/p>\n

I pray this doesn’t happen often, because I love to walk around my yard in the evenings.<\/p>\n

On that evening, however, I had to stay locked up in my cottage, so as to escape this poisoned air.<\/p>\n
