The GCN has received unconfirmed reports, this morning (July 19), of two men being arrested for hijacking at the Stone Arch Estate in Castleview, Germiston.<\/p>\n

It is alleged that the two men, who are also believed to have been involved in a housebreaking, stole a Volkswagen Golf but were tracked through the Golf’s on board tracking system.<\/p>

The men then abandoned the Golf and Stole a Volkswagen Polo.<\/p>\n

It is believed that the men then traveled to the Stone Arch, where they were tracked down by the Germiston SAPS.<\/p>

Onlookers at the scene say that shots were fired at around 7.30am this morning, and a police helicopter could be seen over head.<\/p>\n

Some also claim they saw the two men attempting abandon the Polo outside of the Estate and try to run into the Estate.<\/p>\n

One was apprehended outside, while the second manage to get into the Estate.<\/p>\n

It was there officers were able to catch and arrest him.<\/p>\n

Unconfirmed reports state that when officers searched the house where the men were alleged to have been staying, they found a number of other vehicles.<\/p>\n

The GCN is currently trying to reach the Germiston SAPS for confirmation of the incident.<\/p>\n
