Angelique Gerber Designs are looking for a fresh new face to represent this prestigious and sophisticated brand of beauty, style, ultimate femininity and timeless elegance.<\/p>\n
Angelique Gerber Designs is looking for the ultimate high value woman, an aspiring socialite, determined and willing to work hard for a chance of a career in the entertainment industry.<\/p>
<\/div>\n
In short Gerber is searching for an apprentice, who can be groomed into a well-poised “Lady of Culture and Refinement”.<\/p>\n
That has what it takes to become famous and utilise each opportunity presented to her.<\/p>
<\/div>\n
This is the competition that 27-year-old Bianca Jordaan found herself in.<\/p>\n
“I never entered the competition myself,” she explained.<\/p>\n
“A friend of mine saw the competition on Facebook and decided to enter me.<\/p>\n
“I knew nothing about it until a received an email saying that I had been chosen to compete.”<\/p>\n
Jordaan, who hails from Delville, was taken aback when she heard that she had been entered into the “Apprentesses of Angelique Gerber” but warm to the idea immediately.<\/p>\n
“This competition is not only about a pretty face but also about what you have to offer.<\/p>\n
“It is a great opportunity to make a mark in one of the fastest growing industries and allows you opportunities to help others,” Jordaan said.<\/p>\n
The competition which began in May has taken contestants on an unforgettable journey.<\/p>\n
Jordaan gave her thoughts on some of the activities contestants were asked to do during the course of the competition:<\/p>\n
\n
\u00a0To open a Facebook page and Twitter account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
“This gave us an opportunity to market ourselves and get our names into the arena.”<\/p>\n
\n
\u00a0Make an introductory video.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
“This gave us an opportunity to introduce ourselves to the judges and explain what we are all about.”<\/p>\n
\n
\u00a0The contestants then had to approach companies and get them to sponsor a list of charities provided by the organisers of the competition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Two examples were VWR Warm Vir Charity and Good Morning Angels.<\/p>\n
\n
\u00a0The contestants then had to get involved in local charity fund-raiser.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
“I love to run so for my charity outreach project I have been running to raise funds and awareness. \n“I have focused on a children’s cancer charity called Little Fighters Cancer Trust.”<\/p>\n
\n
Answer a Binnelanders casting call.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
“That took me out of my comfort zone, but it was fun.”<\/p>\n
\n
\u00a0All the contestants had a photo shoot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\n
The contestants had to make a handmade gift that will be presented to Gerber after the competition’s final.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
“I enlisted the help of my two boys Ean Jordaan (7) and Ruan Van der Burg (4) for this project, their help made making the gift all the more special.”<\/p>\n
With the competition entering its final stages the contestants headed to Pretoria.<\/p>\n
Their final week has thus far included the painting of a children’s home and an informative workshop.<\/p>\n
The workshop included talks from all the judges as well as Gerber herself.<\/p>\n
The girls also learnt what exactly would be expected of them if they won the competition.<\/p>\n
The final will take place this coming Saturday.<\/p>\n
When asked if her family and friends were supportive of her Jordaan told the GCN that, “My family and friends have been amazing.<\/p>\n
“They have helped me where every they could, be it babysitting or helping with a task, they have really helped me through this competition.”<\/p>\n
“The two things I am taking in to the final are when my eldest son, Ean, asked me if I win the competition will I be a princess.<\/p>\n
“He went on to tell me not to worry if I won or not because I was already a queen to him.<\/p>\n
“The second is some advice from my boyfriend Gunther Fouch\u201a, he told me not to go into this competition just to win but to have fun and enjoy the experience.”<\/p>\n
