{"id":63417,"date":"2014-07-03T15:05:00","date_gmt":"2014-07-03T13:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/63417\/eight-numsa-members-arrested-for-public-violence\/"},"modified":"2014-07-03T15:45:43","modified_gmt":"2014-07-03T13:45:43","slug":"eight-numsa-members-arrested-for-public-violence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/news-headlines\/2014\/07\/03\/eight-numsa-members-arrested-for-public-violence\/","title":{"rendered":"Eight Numsa members arrested for public violence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Elsburg SAPS have been on high alert this week, while Numsa (National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa) members have been taking to the streets of Wadeville and parts of Elsburg.<\/p>\n<p>Eight people were arrested on Wednesday, after the protest march turned violent and strikers broke the windows of a number of factories in Elsburg.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>Acting station commander for the Elsburg police, Lieut Col Zonele Qangase, told the GCN that people started gathering at about 8am on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Numsa members then paraded through the streets of Wadeville and, in the process, started tipping over refuse bins.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;They also went and called at factory gates where they believed there were workers still at work,&#8221;
