The GCN recently received a call from concerned Primrose resident Doreen Swanepoel.<\/p>\n

Swanepoel alerted the GCN to a sewerage problem at the corner of Oak Avenue and Peach Road.<\/p>

She explained the sequence of events that led her to call in and report the matter.<\/p>\n

“We first spotted the sewage spill on Sunday, April 6, at the bottom of the cul-de-sac in Quince Road,” she said.<\/p>

” I reported it to the metro immediately, and was given reference number.”It was Thursday, April 10, when we discovered that there was an even greater sewerage leak on the same corner.”<\/p>\n

One of the main concerns residents have is the method used to contain the spillage.<\/p>\n

Sand bags have been used to try to route the direction of the sewerage — directly into a near-by storm water drain.<\/p>\n

Many fear this is a health hazard.<\/p>\n

“We have seen workers at both sites,” Swanepoel added.<\/p>\n

“It seems they have tried to contain the problem, but it is not resolved and sewage continues to spill.”<\/p>\n

The GCN contacted the metro and asked;<\/p>\n
