{"id":56072,"date":"2014-03-27T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-27T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/56072\/residents-bring-concerns-to-the-metro\/"},"modified":"2014-03-27T10:41:57","modified_gmt":"2014-03-27T08:41:57","slug":"residents-bring-concerns-to-the-metro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/news-headlines\/2014\/03\/27\/residents-bring-concerns-to-the-metro\/","title":{"rendered":"Residents bring concerns to the metro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The GCN recently received an email from a concerned citizen, who wishes to remain unnamed, alerting us to the illegal dumping that is taking place on Radio Road and Black Reef Road.<\/p>\n<p>The email read: &#8220;I live in an estate called Albermarle Estates, located in Black Reef Road.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;There are smaller complexes within the estate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you pass our complex and you enter into Radio Road, you will find a large and unsightly amount of filth, rubbish and, as a recent addition, squatters.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;There are no barriers or signs preventing people in cars from throwing\/dumping their rubbish there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The GCN was able to contact the metro for comment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality will attend to all illegal dumping in the affected area as soon as possible,&#8221; said Lebogang Ramashala, from the metro&#8217;s Department of Communications and Brand Management.<\/p>\n<p>The second concern residents of the area have is the street lights in Black Reef Road.<\/p>\n<p>Residents claim that, in the last six years, these street lights have been functional for less than a month in total.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The poles are skew and the wires are hanging all over the show; this is a great concern,&#8221; said one resident.<\/p>\n<p>The GCN was also able to get comment from the metro on this matter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has been to the site,&#8221;
