{"id":53510,"date":"2014-02-21T09:40:00","date_gmt":"2014-02-21T07:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/53510\/samson-can-further-his-studiesorbursary-competition-provides-samson-access-to-quality-tertiary-education\/"},"modified":"2014-02-21T09:50:04","modified_gmt":"2014-02-21T07:50:04","slug":"samson-can-further-his-studiesorbursary-competition-provides-samson-access-to-quality-tertiary-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/news-headlines\/2014\/02\/21\/samson-can-further-his-studiesorbursary-competition-provides-samson-access-to-quality-tertiary-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Samson can further his studies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Germiston resident Samson Matlala (28) was one of three winners awarded a bursary by Regenesys Business School, recently.<\/p>\n<p>Samson entered the business school&#8217;s Free to Learn Bursary Competition and was delighted when he won a share of R100 000 worth of education bursaries.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>He was presented with his bursary by the business school&#8217;s chief executive officer, Siegie Brownlee, and Regenesys Foundation manager Gill Gates.<\/p>\n<p>Samson, an entrepreneur who has successfully registered a small investment company and works as a network marketer, had given up on his dream of achieving a degree in business studies, because his family could not afford the costs of sending him to a tertiary institution.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p>His one-year bursary towards a degree in business administration will go far towards providing him with the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to take his entrepreneurial activities further.<\/p>\n<p>To enter, candidates were asked to post a photo and motivation to the Regenesys Business School&#8217;s Facebook page, describing how free business education could transform their lives.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Participants from all walks of life posted their inspiring photos and the competition attracted 60 entrants, making the final decision that much harder,&#8221;
