The Primrose SAPS recently arrested a 24-year-old man on two counts of theft and malicious damage to property.<\/p>\n

The arrest followed two separate incidents.<\/p>

The first was reported to police by a man who alleged that he was on duty at the main gate of a business, when he fell asleep in the guardhouse.<\/p>\n

He said that when he woke up his cellphone was missing and the gate had been damaged.<\/p>

Officers were able to identify and track the suspect with the help of CCTV footage collected from the scene.<\/p>\n

In the second incident, the accused was allegedly involved in the theft of a police radio.<\/p>\n

This theft was reported to have happened when officers were called to the scene of a domestic dispute.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived they found that the couple involved were engaged in a physical fight, and jumped out of their vehicle to try and break up the skirmish.<\/p>\n

While the officers were distracted, the accused removed the police radio from the vehicle and vanished.<\/p>\n

Detectives were able to track him down and he was arrested.<\/p>\n

The man was taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was held pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.<\/p>\n
