{"id":52161,"date":"2014-01-22T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-01-22T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/germistoncitynews.co.za\/52161\/uk-man-receives-e-toll-account\/"},"modified":"2014-01-22T14:13:47","modified_gmt":"2014-01-22T12:13:47","slug":"uk-man-receives-e-toll-account","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/develop.citizen.co.za\/germiston-city-news\/news-headlines\/2014\/01\/22\/uk-man-receives-e-toll-account\/","title":{"rendered":"UK man receives E-toll account"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to John Snyders, the man\u2019s friend, he has been living in the UK for the past two years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe still has his Vodacom number and received this threatening SMS,\u201d says Snyders.<\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"gmw_\">Vusi Mona, spokesperson for <span class=\"gm_ gm_c2fd996c-56d5-2449-1421-a00e5019adc5 gm-spell\">Sanral<\/span>, says there could be a number of reasons why he has received such an SMS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"gmw_\">\u201cThis could be the result either oftransfer of ownership not having been done, or it could be a cloned vehicle.<\/span><\/p><div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\"><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"gmw_\">\u201cWe urge such motorists to please report the incident in order for <span class=\"gm_ gm_10071e36-7e4c-208c-1ebf-a8dd65bc1a5c gm-spell\">Sanral<\/span> to investigate the matter,\u201d adds Mona.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He says that if you receive an SMS message and have not used the Gauteng road network, then you should contact the call centre so they can check their records.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"gmw_\">Wayne <span class=\"gm_ gm_d1063abe-be49-dd4e-b93e-61a936f9ca10 gm-spell\">Duveangae<\/span>, chairperson of Outa, says that this is exactly the kind of problems that arise from an administratively cumbersome system which relies on incorrect information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"gmw_\">&#8220;What this man and thousands of others who are not on these roads will do, is simply ignore the notices from <span class=\"gm_ gm_90dcf9f1-e5ea-f451-fde7-62a2777155d9 gm-spell\">Sanral<\/span><span class=\"gmw_\"> and <span class=\"gm_ gm_e7ae4288-ae5b-9605-a1d1-9b63527a2a88 gm-spell\">Sanral<\/span> will in turn merrily continue to harass thousands of innocent people.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is not up to the owner of the cellphone to waste his time contacting and proving his innocence to Sanral,&#8221;
