Residents’ concerns have began to grow over the branches falling from the gum trees behind the houses in Coral Street, in Woodmere.<\/p>\n

Residents fear that the branches, that have begun to fall on the back walls of their properties, will fall on their houses.<\/p>

The residents fear is that the falling branches will damage the houses or, in a worst case scenario, cause the residents themselves harm.<\/p>\n

The GCN reported the matter to the metro and Sam Modiba, Ekurhuleni’s spokesperson, responded, saying: “The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s Parks Department will assist the community by pruning or removing the problematic trees.<\/p>

“We will further extend our communication with the affected residents until such time as the complaint has been handled.”<\/p>\n
