“Gerrit”, Germiston South writes:<\/p>\n

Amidst all the doom and gloom reports we are used to reading, including the wars, the terrorism, the poverty, the strife and government’s failure to deliver – is there perhaps space in your pages for a little humour?<\/p>

In Germiston, recently, I observed a florist’s delivery van with the following words printed across the side panels: “BEE complaint”.<\/p>\n

These words were printed in prominently large lettering.<\/p>

And at a quick glace I assumed this meant “Black Economic Empowerment”, a natural assumption I thought?<\/p>\n

It was not until I noticed the nuance in the catchphrase, found at the bottom of the side panel, and in noticeably smaller lettering, which read: “We only harvest blooms after pollination”.<\/p>\n

If you didn’t already know, bees (BEEs) pollinate flowers.<\/p>\n

I found this clever little play on words rather humorous, I thought I had to share it.<\/p>\n
