The campaign members will visit 25 taxi ranks across the metro to disinfect them.<\/p>\n
As many employees will be going back to work and many use public transport, this campaign is aimed at helping to make sure passengers are safe.<\/p>
Nkunjana called on all stakeholders in the industry to adhere to the lockdown level four regulations.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn estimated 1.5 million employees returned to work on May 4 due to the relaxation of restrictions from level five to level four and the majority of commuters use taxis to get to work.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis makes the taxi industry an area where the possible spread of the virus may happen if adequate measures are not taken,\u201d said Nkunjana.<\/p>\n
