Is your family craving a burger take out?<\/p>\n

Try a healthy, and flavour-filled, homemade burger.<\/p>

Newly married Lindsay Kleynhans from Hirsch\u2019s made her husband\u2019s favourite burger using a progressive burger press, a fun kitchen gadget that is so easy to use.<\/p>\n

Ingredients:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Four burger buns or large grilled Portobello mushrooms for a healthy alternative.
\n\u2022 500g lean mince
\n\u2022 One egg
\n\u2022 One cup of bread crumbs
\n\u2022 A mix of your favourite herbs and spices
\n\u2022 Cheese for the filling (you can add anything you like, jalapenos or peppers work well with the cheese).<\/p>

Garnish:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Red onion
\n\u2022 Burger mayo or sauce of your choice
\n\u2022 Crisp lettuce
\n\u2022 Tomato<\/p>\n

Method:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Mix all ingredients together, except the cheese, buns and garnish, until well combined.
\n\u2022 Divide into eight round balls.
\n\u2022 Press one of the meat balls into the burger press and place the cube of cheese on top, add another meat ball on top and using the burger press lid press down on the patty until the edges close.
\n\u2022 Place the burger patties on a baking tray and bake for approximately 20 minutes depending on how you like them done, or try them on the braai for a family fun evening of burger making and stuffing.<\/p>\n

Makes four large patties.<\/p>\n
